Bitcoin: the 65,000 shelf gives way as the 3D downtrend firms from weak to moderate

Jul 29, 2026 · BTC

MoonWire multi-timeframe compute has Bitcoin at 63,205.80 with the 3D, weekly and monthly trends all pointing down for a second straight week. The near-term read has firmed rather than stalled: 3D trend strength moved from weak to moderate, the 3D efficiency ratio more than doubled to 0.35, and momentum crossed out of neutral into bearish with RSI at 42.8.

What changed since last week

Last week our 3D read had Bitcoin pinned inside a narrow band, with the nearest support at 65,000 and the nearest resistance at 67,292 — a compression of roughly 3.5% — and the trend down but weak, with an efficiency ratio of 0.15 and neutral momentum at RSI 46.5.

That band no longer contains price. Bitcoin trades at 63,205.80, down 3.24% from the 65,322.04 in last week snapshot and 2.76% below the 65,000 shelf that was then the nearest support. The 3D pivot scan now flags 62,510.28 as nearest support and 64,700.00 as nearest resistance, so the entire prior band sits overhead.

Three other numbers moved with it. The 3D efficiency ratio more than doubled, from 0.15 to 0.35, and the trend-strength label moved from weak to moderate — the near-term decline became more directional, not just lower. The 3D RSI slipped from 46.5 to 42.8, crossing out of the neutral band into bearish. The weekly RSI eased from 40.5 to 38.5. Multi-timeframe alignment is unchanged at aligned_down for a second consecutive week.

The multi-timeframe read

All three timeframes now read down with bearish momentum, and Bitcoin is below its 20-period exponential average on each one.

On the 3D, price sits 0.66% under the 20-EMA at 63,624.85 and essentially on the 20-period simple average at 63,177.57 — the two averages have converged around spot. Trend is down at moderate strength, momentum bearish at RSI 42.8, and 3D ATR of 3,166.15 is about 5.0% of price.

On the weekly, the gap is wider: price is 6.17% below the 20-EMA at 67,360.27, RSI reads 38.5, and the efficiency ratio of 0.46 sits between the 3D's 0.35 and the monthly's 0.65. Weekly ATR is 5,482.95.

On the monthly, the trend is down at strong strength with an efficiency ratio of 0.65, up from 0.60 last week. Price is 24.20% below the monthly 20-EMA at 83,389.76, with monthly RSI at 43.1 — bearish but not oversold on the longer horizon.

Levels and zones

The most-tested level in the Bitcoin structure remains the weekly support our scan places at 59,991.46 with seven touches — by a wide margin the highest touch count anywhere in the BTC snapshot, and price currently sits 5.36% above it. Below that, weekly supports thin out to 53,017.97 (two touches) and 49,000.00 (one touch).

Near-term structure is thinner. The 3D supports at 62,510.28 and the resistance at 64,700.00 carry one touch each, so neither is a heavily-tested level; the better-tested 3D floor is 58,977.03 with three touches. Overhead, the weekly resistance at 65,749.00 has two touches, and the 3D resistance at 67,124.15 also has two.

On imbalance zones, the 3D and weekly scans still flag no unmitigated bullish order block at all — the nearest zones in both are bearish and far above price: 72,512.49 to 74,514.10 on the 3D, now aged to 20 bars from 17 last week, and 90,128.44 to 97,924.49 on the weekly. The only bullish zone anywhere in the snapshot is on the monthly, between 107,350.10 and 124,474.00, which is far above current trade. Conventionally, order blocks mark where prior trading concentrated, and readers track whether such zones are later revisited or left unmitigated; here the near-term picture is one of overhead supply zones with no near-term demand zone flagged beneath.

Cross-asset context

A note visible only because we compute the same read across all three assets weekly: last week Bitcoin was the only one of BTC, ETH and SOL registering aligned_down, while both Ethereum and Solana carried a 3D uptick. That has partly reversed. Solana has rejoined the aligned_down group this week, leaving Ethereum as the sole asset of the three whose near-term trend still reads up.
