The read: a near-term stall with almost no net travel
Ethereum trades at 1,778.63. The standout number in this week's snapshot is the 3D efficiency ratio of 0.029. Efficiency ratio compares net distance travelled to the total path walked to get there; at 0.03, essentially all of ETH's recent 3D movement has cancelled itself out. It is the flattest reading anywhere in our BTC/ETH/SOL set this week — BTC's comparable 3D figure is 0.24, SOL's 0.05. The engine labels the 3D trend down but its strength weak, which is what a directionless tape produces.
Price is also sitting almost exactly on structure: the nearest 3D support is 1,773.90 (2 touches), just 0.3% below spot, with the nearest 3D resistance at 1,841.47 (2 touches). ETH is inside a box about 67 wide, against a 3D ATR(14) of 148 — the recent range is narrower than a single average 3D bar.
Trend: flat near-term, strongly down above
| Timeframe | 20-EMA | Price vs EMA | Trend | Strength | RSI(14) | Efficiency ratio |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 3D | 1,800.77 | -1.2% | down | weak | 44.7 | 0.03 |
| 1W | 1,915.84 | -7.2% | down | strong | 38.0 | 0.52 |
| 1M | 2,589.91 | -31.3% | down | strong | 42.0 | 0.70 |
multi_tf_alignment reads aligned_down. The contrast inside that alignment is the read: near-term, price is barely off its own 20-EMA (-1.2%) and going nowhere; step out to the monthly and it is 31% below the 20-EMA with an efficiency ratio of 0.70 — one of the more directional readings in the set. Conventional multi-timeframe practice treats this shape as a pause inside a trend rather than a change of it, because nothing in the higher-timeframe structure has been reclaimed.
Weekly RSI at 38.0 is the lowest ETH reading — bearish momentum, but still above the conventional oversold line of 30.
Levels and zones
- Stacked supports just underneath: 3D 1,773.90 (2 touches) and weekly 1,767.36 (3 touches) — two independent scans landing within 7 points of each other, immediately below spot.
- Deeper: 1,554.13 on the monthly, with 7 touches — the most-tested level in ETH's structure and the single support the monthly pivot scan flags at all. Below that, 1,508.84 (2 touches) and 1,385.05.
- Overhead: 3D 1,841.47 (2 touches), then a wide gap — the weekly scan's next resistance is 2,425.47 and the monthly's is 2,066.88 (3 touches). Between roughly 1,850 and 2,050 our scan finds no tested level at all.
- Imbalance: an unmitigated bearish order block at 1,907.41-2,386.02 on the monthly, formed 4 bars ago, sits inside that thin overhead band — a zone where prior selling concentrated and which price has not traded back through. Traders often watch such zones for a reaction.
The near-term picture is therefore a very tight coil resting on a two-timeframe support shelf, sitting under a stretch of chart with little tested structure until the monthly order block.
